After a vessel ■ had been struck at night, and when 'the crew were in the boats, the operator was told by tho captain that the nireless ca"bin was too dangerous, but he returned to it, called for assistance, and gave the position of the ehip, with tho icsult that the crew were picked up next morning. Another operator remained sending out Signals after the crew hal left and went down with the vessel. A third, for whom the captain turned back with a boiit, was rescued when tho ship was half under w.ater. One operator lias been torpedoed three times in three months.
