FIRE AT SEATOUN
GROCERY STORE DESTROYED. Kl 3 a.m., yesterday,. Mr. Curgpnveu's general grocery store: at Seatoun was totally destroyed by five, practically nothing of , the stock or other cr.ntenls "beinf,' saved. The cause of the outbreak Is not known. 'The building, which was owned by Mr. Cyri) M'Farlane, of Seatoun, was insured, and the contents and plant were covered by a policy l'or /:400 in' file State Office. I'he Scatuuu olunteer Brigade, assisted by some of tho niombers of the Garrison Artillery from Port Dorset, assisted to subdue the flames. • . It has been reported to the police constable at Seatoun that some people made freo with, goods removed from (he burning premises, and on demand some of the '■100t 54 was i-eturiiod. The Waerengaahika Hotel and Colebrook's store, eight miles north o.f Gisborne, were destroyed by fire on Saturday night. About ifioOO worth of stock from the store was saved. 1
