A oommitteo nieering of the Wellington Automobile Club was held recently, at which Messrs. C. Jl. Banks, S. G. Nathan, AV. Jfantell, H. Lloyd, jyidC. Bfiei'wood wore preseut. Tho following neiy members weio elected:—Messrs J. S. Barton; A. K. Mackenzie, H. Blackman,- W. A. J. In reply to correspondence sent to tlio Hi:tt Borough Council with regard to the condition of the Silverslrenm Gorge, the council replied that the road is receiving attention. Al;o with regard to the fencing of tho Paekakariki Hill Road, which the committee consider in some parts dangerous, tho council replied that the matter had been referred to the Whareroa Riding.

It was resolved that tho club defend tho action taken by the Petone Borough Council, against certain members for exceeding the speed limit allowed under its by-laws of hvelvo wiles.an hour on tho iiiain Hutt Eoad, and that Mr. M. Myers be instructed to defend as a test case on tin) ground that the by-law is unreasonable. • •
