At the Magistrate's Court to-day Reginald Raymond Smith, bootmaker, aged 23, was sentenced to threo months' imprisonment for failing to enrol under the Military Semeo Act, Sub-Inspector Mullany said the case was a very bad one, for the accused was the most persistent shirker lie had had to deal irith. He had steadfastly evaded having his name recorded. With-a yiow to escaping: enrolment ho had beon. dodging about from Christchurch to Oamaru qutid hack again, and to many different places, and had only been arrested that day.
