Sir,—The Government are atking the public to furnish funds ior the v.ar, and rightly so, and may they succeed; but. sir, when you want to secure the best from a person you must be careful to remove any just grievances lie moy havo against Your request. Now, it cannot be gainsaid that the Protestant public have almost unanimously through their several cliuirch courts demanded a decided action on the part <f Uie Government in dealing with the liquor question" and many tens of thousands •or electors, and now the Efficiency Board, set up by the Government lipve spoken, in no equivocal voice as to Hi© roand for the total prohibition of alcoholic liquor as a leverage, and yet what action has the Cabinet taken?
