HIS 'MAJESTY'S THEATRE. This afternoon and to-night, the public will have a last, opportunity of seeing tlys Staigs in their thrilling "Globe of Death'' ant. The performance is one of the most sensational ever seen in Wellington. Mounted upon a high-powered motor-cycle, young Stuig whirls rouud and round the globe of latticed steel, and loops-t he-loop not once, but many times. Tho supporting programme includes vocal numbery by tho Molinaris, and a variety of turns by othor clever artists. KING'S THEATRE. "Idle Wives" was again presented to a good attendance at the King' 6 Theatre last evening. The picturc is a Lois Weber production and points a moral with cou- , sidcrablo force. The mounting is tasteful aud eflcctive. ' "THE SIXTEENTH WIFE." "Sfoc Sixteenth Wife," a Greater Vitagfapli drama, is to be soreenedatthe King's Thea-tro to-day. .Peggy Hyland appears as an American danseuse who is yersuaded to make a trip to Constantinople. There a Turk falls-in lave with her, and inveigles her into his liarem. After a series of i attempts she cscapes, only to find when shs gets to New York that her Oriental lover has foUowed her. * It is only after t-hiilling adventures that sho manages to elude him, and get clear away to marry the young reporter who hag captured her heaTt. Tho latter rol© is taken by George North. The interior of the harem is_ described as a wonderful feat in artistic photography, the setting being gorgeous and magnificent in tho extreme. THE EMPRESS THEATRE. In "The False Friend," to be screened at tho Empress Theatre to-day, Robert Warwick, as a young lawyer, is said, to have a part that suits him perfectly. ' Gail Kane is tho heroine, and in the strongly emotional scenes with, which the play aleunds she is said to rise to great heights. The central incident of the story is tho betrayal of a man by his Iwst friend, who is in love with the heroine. By a skilful piece of villainy he manages to persuade the girl and her father that his friend is a dope fiend, and from that one act of scoundrelism a whole series of black troubles assail tsic hero. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. In "Tho Millionaire Vagrant," the Triangle play to be screened at Everybody's Theatre to-day, Charles Bay appears aa tho rich young man who goes down to the slums to.find out what life is really like, and lie gets through a series of thrilling adventures. The Triangle juvenile actor performs some extraordinary 'feats of agility and strength. The central incident- is tho arrest of a pretty girl who is a fellow-boarder of the millionaire, aud is threatened with a trumped-up charge by the corrupt police. The story i becomes almost tragic in these scenes, and i -Sylvia, Bremer, the young - Australian ; hcautv who stars in the film, earns great ! praise for her intense emotional work. The i first scenes open in o. millionaires' club land later in Bay's apartments, and are j sumptuously set. "Her Nature. Dance' is I described as a Keystone comedy well worth seeing. ■
