GIFT PARCELS FOR SOLDIERS
The Defence Minister made a clear Statement yesterday regarding the iorwarding of gift parcels to soldiers as follows:— "Tho Defenco Department forwards aj opportunity permits, when consigned to "It" Shed, AVaterloo Quay, Wellington, cases of suitable size containing small parcel* of- comforts, packed separately, for distribution to particular # units of tho Expeditionary Force. Owing to tre difficulties of transport Iwtween the bases and the fronts small, separately packed and individually-addressed parcels within postal limit? as to "weight, etc., cannot be accepted for dispatch similarly, and these should bo sent through the Post Office to ensure their reaching the individual soldiers for whom they are intended."
