WOMAN'S WORLD
(Continued from page 2.) St. John's Women's Association. The membership of this association <says the annual report of St. John's Church) shows a slight decrease for the jear, both in thft roll number and the average. attendance. The former is 38, 'the latter 22- -The fact that the meetings are now held weekly instead of once .a fortnight explains the decreased average attendance, but we sincerely trust that the women of the congregation will more than make good the shortage as compared with last year in this agency, ■which-is, without question, one of tho most beneficent and helpful connected with tho congregation. Happily the record of effort is better than ever, and how diligent these women workers have "been will be seen from tho report that follows of the work done by the ''two .branches of the association's efforts, namely, the Dorcas work and missionary work. The number of garments mado and distributed was 478. Of these 150 ■went to the Red Cross Society, 218 to tho orphanage, the remainder to the poor. The association also distributed a large parcel of raiment sent them for this purpose by the Two-Garment Soqiety. Gifts 1 n of material were received from more thai
one Wellington firm, thus reel wing considerably the association's expenditure on the stuff they require for this part of their work.
