WAS HE LOST IN THE HAMPSHIRE? BELIEVED BY SISTER TO BE ALIVE London, July 27. Mis. Parker, sister of the late Lord Kitchener, in opening a bazaar at Hastings, said she did not share the general belief that her brother went dowa in H.M.S. Hampshire. She had a firm belief that 'he was still alive and wcnld return. This was the first time she had publicly announced her opinion, but ever since the loss of the Hampshire sho had been trying to find out what had happened to her brother.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. "K. North recently received a letter from a well-known Belfast resident stating that the mother ot a sailor on the Hampshire who was known to her had received a letter from, her son, whom she had thought dead, but who was a prisoner in Germany. The son added at the foot of his letter: - li. is here also." .
