FIRST DRAFT ANNOUNCED THE SYSTEM DESCRIBED Washington, July 19. The method of selecting inen drafted fo. rtoe Army has been announced. It consists of drawing key numbers, which will determine the first men to be selected from each district. The draft will not only select the first force, but will show the order la which all registered men will bB called on.

ATLANTIC FLEET NOW REORGANISED BATTLESHIP EFFECTIVES . / DOUBLED. Washington, July 19. ■ 11. Daniels, Secretary of tho Navy, announces the reorganisation of the Atlantic Fleet. Hear-Admral Grant is promoted to be'Vice-Admiral in command of one division of the Fleet, and RearAdmiral H. T. Mayo is in general command. Mr. Daniels stated 'that the arrangement doubles the number of battleships now in commission. Every battleship is to bo fully commissioned for the purpose of placing the Navy in the highest stato of efficiency and readiness for action.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
SWEDEN'S TRADE WITH THE ENEMY AMERICA MAY HAVE TO ACT. New York, July 19. The New York "World's" London correspondent reports on authoritative information that Germany contracted to purchase 1,500,000 tons of homatito ore from Sweden in the coming year. The ore is to be used for tho manufacture of machinery and tools, and is to be carried across the Baltic in vessels convoyed by Swedish warships.
