Probably several other southern trainers "will also cancel their trip, while Auckland owners will bo unable to race at outside meetings. The Opaki trainer J. Jamieson has been negotiating recently for the purchase of Multaine. and it is quito likely tho filly wMI shortly havo a change of quarters. Tho Auckland horseman E. Tapp lias j been engaged to ride Parisian Diamond iu | the "Winter Cup. * The once great mare, Sceptre, and her ' filly foal by Olencsky, arc to be disposed 1 of in England on behalf of tho Red Cross j Society. There is a proviso that 10 per : cent, of the net amount realised should | be divided among the stud employees of Mr. J. Musker, who at ' present owns , Sceptre. As a yearling Sceptre realised 10,000 guineas, and. after winning various race 9 for Mr. Sicvicr, was sold as a four-year-old to Mr. W. Bass for £25,000. Subsequently she and her two-year-old daughter, Curia, were bought for 7000 guineas by ' Mi 1 . Musker. In common with many other mares that have distinguished themselves i on the racing track.
