GOVERNMENT DEFEAT IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA
PREMIER EXPECTED TO RESIGN. (Rec, July 12, 10.30 p.m.) Adelaide, July 12. The Government was defeate'd by 23 votes to 18 after tho Governor's Spuecii had been read in the Council and tho members of the Assembly had returned to tho Chamber. Mr. Peake (the Premier) then moved the adjournment of the House, which was carried on a division. Three United Labour members walked out. It is expected, that the Premier will resign.— Press Assa.
