BOYS' INSTITUTE
CONCERT & SWI.MiMTNG CAI?NIVAL.
Nie concert and swimming carnival held in aid of the bath funds of the Loys .Institute were concluded last evening- Sir. ({. A. Troup presided over a large attendance. Tho concert programme comprised the following items:— Selections by the Wellington Pipo Band; songs by Mr. J. Prentice, Mr. Geo. Peek, Madame Anderson, Mr. J. M'Gregor, and Mr. \Y. B. Keany; ami a whistling solo by Mr. 1,. Shaddick. Miss Kutiior acted as accompanist. As on the previous evening, members of the institute gave an exhibition of life-saving, and Mr. .T. D. Foster one of fancy swimming. Polowing are tho results of the competitions held after the concert had been given :— Ladies' 6G 2-3 yds. handicap: Miss ,T. Aitken, 1; Miss M. Aitken, 2; Miss I. Bigg. 3.
6G 2-3 yds. handicap, for members of the institute: .1. Anderson, 1; W. M'Gill, 2; A. Tarrant, 3.
Boys' diving competition: A. Tarrant, 1; W. Thomas, 2: B. O'Neil, 3.
Primary schoolboys' team racp, 133 l-3ytls.: Marist (Newtown) School, 1; Marist (Thorndonj School, 2; Mt. Cook Boys' Sc'hoiil, 3.
