He finds that the operations in Palestine are similar to those in France, the forces being deeply entienched. We are securely dug in on a long line, and give the Turks no rest. Their positions are frequently heavily bombarded l , the guns eaily searching for enemy artillery ammunition dumps. Much good work is done in preventing the enemy harvesting tho barley behind the lines. Over half a ton of bombs was dropped' on an aerodrome at llanileh, near Jerusalem. Another squadron attacked and severely damaged'an important depot at Tiilkeran, north-east of Jaffa. A,squadron attacked the Headquarters of the 4th 'liirkish irmy, within a mile of the walls ot Jerusalem, and dropped fifty bombs on tho Headquarters buildings. The lurks issued an announcement that the IJritisli had bombarded the Holy City of Jerusalem sacred alike to Mahommedans and Christians. Mr. Massey continues: Jne town was not bombed, but four bombs hit the roof of Headquarters. —Aus.-N./S. Cable ASM. . ' '
