GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF NEW ZEALAND
LORD LIVERPOOL TO TAKE THE OATH TO-DAY. In recognition of the services rendered by New Zealand since the outbreak of war, His Majesty the King has been pleased to command that tho title shall be changed from "Governor of NewZealand" to that of "Governor-General," and Letters Patent, dated May 11, 1917, to this effect have passed the Great .Seal of the United Kingdom.
His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve of tho appointment of the Right Hon. the Earl of Liverpool, G.C.M.G., M.V.0.. to bo the first Governor-General and 'Com-mander-in-Chief of the Dominion of New Zealand. His Excellency, in accordance with His Majesty's command, will take the oath of his new ofSe* at noon to-day| on the steps of the Parliamentary Library Building/.Wellington.
