Ho particularly urged upon members the necessity nf extreme caro in their selection of bulls for their herds and to endeavour to keep to tho milking .strain. 'Die importance of semi-official testin? was strohfrly urged, and from records already obtained by milking Shorthorns proved (lie value of the breed. Ho was pleased to know that an increased number of breeders were Roinsr m for somiofficial tostins; of their cows, and the council of the association would give every encouragement to those members. Tlie secretary Tenorted that .£2OO had been invested 'in Government Wny Certificates, and they had still a credit Imlnncs of over X 230 in tlie bank. Mr. V, 'Clifton, formerly of (lie Government Department, now of Tβ Awaimitu, was unanimously elected as a lifo honorary member of tho association. Special reference was made to tlie services rendered by Mr. Cliflnn, who was one of tlio founders of the association and who had token a keen interest in "the milking Shorthorn breed for many years.
