FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT t P.M. YESTERDAY. l'resent indications are for high and squally south-easterly winds in and northwards of Cook Strait, and strong norUi-easterlies elsewhere. Expect (lull and stormy weather, and rain probable generally. Barometer rising soon temporarily iu the. north, but falling in the south. Gold and stormy conditions have prevailed, with much ruin northward o£ Farewell Sjiit and Kaikoura, and heavy Hoods have occurred on the East, Coast of the Xorth Island.
