' Thero was widespread interest displayed in to-day's public investiture at Hyde I'ark. when the King" personally bestowed decorations on over three hundred recipients,. including seven Victoria Crosses, also four posthumous Victoria Crosses to next-of-kin. Besides members' : of the.Royal Family, there were present official representatives of the Overseas Dominions, soldiers, many of ivhom were jwflunded, and officers and men of the 'American Coutingonts, '."i. Tho decorations included the'following for New Zealanders ; Military Cross—Captain James Mewett. Military, Medal and Bar—Sergeant It. Simmers (Infantry). ,'i Military Medals—Sergeant-Major A. Mac Queen, Privates \V. Bright, R, Hough, R. Jelfry (Infantry). ■. Royals Red .Cross—Sisters Annie Buck- • ley, Kathleen Davies, Fanny Speedy. / Amongst tho Australians who were decorated, Major Murray wafi awarded the ; "Victoria.
