Kennedy, Petone. A MASTER INJURED. A painful accident befol Oaptain Charles Anderson, master of tho schooner Huanui, and well known in Wellington as master of tho Houto. at the Kitchener Street Wharf. Dunedin, on Saturday morning. He was standing on the deck superintending, the unloading of the vessel's cargo of timber, when a heavy block carried away from aloft. The block struck him on. tho left shoulder, and inflicted very severe injuries, which necessitated his removal to the Hospital for treatment. Captain AuI derson hae been most -unfortunate of late. During the voyage of the Huanui. from Wliangape to Dunedin last week he was etruck on tho right hand by one of tho mainsail blocks while the vessel was jibing. His hand was rather seriously injured as a result of the blow. Captain Anderson will bo confined to the Hospital for several days. TABAWEKA ENCOUNTERS BAD WEATHER. The Tarawera encountered . very heavy weather on tho trip from Lytteltou to Dunedin on Sunday, and conscouently did not reach the latter port until 9.30 p.m. Tho vessel cleared Lyttelton at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and immediately sho reached tho Heads ran into a strong westerly gale. Tho Taragera had a hard battle against the storm, and made very little headway. After passing Akaroa the wind veered to tho east, and blew with hurricane force from that direction. Heavy rain squalls prevailed throughout tho passage*; while a very high sea was running, and the vessel buffeted about considerably. Sho sustained no damage. The Tarawera occupied 27J hours to accomplish tho passage of 204 miles. , , _ This was tho last trip of the Tarawera as a passenger boat. Sho will proceed from Dunedin to Port Chalmers on completion of discharge and will bo handed over to tho builders, who are to remove her passenger accommodation and make her a careo boat only. v . Early this morning tho Orcpuki was to havo left Nydia Bay for Wellington. On arrival sho coca te Miramax to unload. She is fixed to sail to-morrow for Timaru direct.

Early yesterday moraine tho Kokiri left Onehunga for GreyinouUi. Part of her cargo was 130 tons of railway iron, ex the Scow Haere, -which put into Onehusiga recently in a. leaking .condition. I'Jie Huero has been alonjsado tho wharf at Onehunga for tho past two days and yesterday tho Government Marine Inspector of Auckland was to have inspected the vessel, and tho damage done will then be ascertained. With stock from Kelson the Kennedy is duo to-day, and will go to Petono to unload. The- vessel is timed to leave- again to-day for Nelson, where she is to undergo overhaul and survey. Tho Wakatu Sb due to-morrow from Lyttelton and Keikoura. She will discharge her oargo and will thon lay up for about a week to undergo annual cleaning and overhaul. She will go on tho Wellington slip about Thursday next. Last evening the Awahou should have reached Lyttelton from Wanganui. Sheis expected to leave Lyttelton to-night for Wellington, and is due on Friday. Her movements after that have- Dot yet been fixed. , , The Kara left Greymouth- at 7 oclock yesterday morning. She has a full cargo of timber to put out, and after completing discharge will leave for Picton to load for New Plymouth. On completion of diecharge tho Kahika, which arrived here yesterday from Graymouth, will again proceed to the same port to load for Wellington. The harbourmaster at Timara (Captain J. Tait), in his monthly report, stated that the total arrivals during the jnontk of April voire 21 steamers, with an aggregate of 17,095 tons, and tho departures 20 steamers, with an aggregate of 16,607 tons.
