FIXING FOOD PRICES
(Roc. May 27, 5.5 p.m.) London, Hay 26.
The Board of Trade announces that the Government shortly will make a quantity of cheese available for civilian consumption from stocks the Government at present holds. Supplies. will be distributed through traders who have been in the habit of importing direct. The Pood Controller (Lord Devonport) intends to fix the retail price, as it is believed, as resulted in the bread reduction campaign, that a saving of 'at least 10 per cent, will bo effected. When America's position has been defined in resard to food control it is probable that ■an International Board will bo created to secure uniform prices in all Allien countries— Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
