■ ATTEMPTED SUICIDE: By Telegraph—Press Afisoaiatjon. „. , Auckland, May. 21. Richard Cook, aged forty, a platelayer, attempted suicide by cutting his throat. He was removed to the Hospital and an operation was performed. A FATAL FALL. Gisborne, May 21. Morris Ogilvy, head waiter at the Masonic Hotel, died as the result of injuries sustained through a fall from an upper floor, on Saturday night. It is surmised that Ogilvy was then going to his room and walked over an unprotected landing. RAILWAY MAN CRUSHED TO DEATH Auckland, May 21. Harold Toinlinsoii, single, aged about SO, employed as a shunter at Mercer, was killed this morning through being crushed between two cars. It is stated that he jumped in between the cars to turn on the Westinghoiise brake, and is ' supposed to have been caught in the tap. He was so badly injured that 'he died in a few minutes.
