SUPREME COURT
IN BANKRUPTCY. Afr. .Tustico TTosking presided over a short sitting of the Supremo Court in' bankruptcy yesterday. Percy Vivian Gazzard, through Mr..]?. J. O'Rcgan, applied for discharge It appeared that bankrupt, who was a builder, had been in tho Court aboiit eight years. Previous applications for discharge had been opposed by tho Evans Bay Timber Company, tho biggest creditors, and yesterday Mr. .T. ,T. Clark, on belinlt of tlie company, opposed the latest application.
Mr. Clark said that ho know that .bankrupt had failed chiefly through tho mi reasonable conduct of a man for u-liorn lie iras building a house. Bankrupt might, however, havo nnulo tho company's losses lighter if he hud remained in Wellington and given assistance instenil of (joing to Queensland. Mr. O'Rogan snid that a pawnbroker had been appointed clerk of works over biuikmpt, and his brother had refused to pass work which tho architects passed. His Honour suggested that Mr. O'Regan write to bankrupt and ask if ho ie prepared to offer payment of .£IOO within a. reasonable time If bankrupt- agrees to such payment a discharge would probnbly be granted. Tho application waa adjourned to July 30.
TWO DTSCIIARGKS GRANTED. ArHiur Henry Shnkespoar Lucas and Ethel Emily llowoll were granted discluirgos without , opposition from thoir creditors.
