LLOYD GEORGE GETS ANOTHER LETTER (Rec. May 20, 5.5 'p.m.) London, Ha£ 18. Lord llidleton, on behalf of Unionists in the South and West of Ireland, ia a letter to Mr. Lloyd George, insisted that the Sinn Fein, movement had gained immensely in strength since the rebellion. Tlieir operations are actively seditious and pro-German, aad their declared aim is an Irish republic. Any division, of Ireland would enormously increase the forces of disloyalty. .Southern Unionists were willing to consider the possibility of a convention, as already aaaounced and their leadiness to enter into a conference on the future government of tlie Empire after the war, hoping that the Irish question way be settled on "broad Imperial lines.-Aus.-N.Z.
