Mr. ami Mrs. J. W. Carr and their party had a great reception at their concert on Tuesday night from the men from the danger zone who met with their brothers from the coast. The performers wore:' The Misses Chisholm, Piekett, and AValpole, mid Misses. Carr, Thompson, Sutherland. Rowley, and Taylor. Mrs. J. W. Carr and Miss Walnole were at the piano. Mr. Moore, missioner, spoke on "You or the Other Fellow?"' in relation, to temperance. The whole proceedings closed with ringing cheers..
An extraordinary accident occurred in the Municipal Baths in Moray Place (Dtuiedin) last week; when Miss F. M'Donald, aged about twenty years, received very paimil injuries as the- result of a fall. It seems that Miss M'Donald, who is a splendid swimmer and diver, had made two dives from the springboard on the high platform at tho deep end of tho baths. Sho then mounted to make tlie *,hivd dive, and while standing at tho end of the board sho suddenly tool: a half turn to tho loft, and tho 7ioxt instant uiado a leap into tho air, landiug on her knees on tho hard concrete :loor,taboufc two yards from tho bottom of tho diving platform, where she lay partly stunned. It is understood lhat her right knee was badjy dislocated, ami tho other badly bruised, and in addition the patient is suffering from shock. Professor Olds, the instructor, who saw the mishap, could not account for the accident, but thought the lady may have had an attack of dizziness and' thought she was jumping into the water. The lieight of the springboard from the floor is 19ft., and *ho sprang well outwards.
