BURGLARY AT AWAPUNI CAMP
. • THIEVES DISAPPOINTED. (By Telegraph-Special Correspondent.) Palmerston N., April 24. A burglary is reported to have occurred at' Awapuni Camp during the Easter holidays, the Y.M.C.A. Hall having boen daringly broken into and the safe removed bodily from the building to a ulace of seclusion. There had been, considerably over £100 in this safe, belonging to the men, just prior to the holidays, but the owners had been prevailed upon by Mr. Granger, officer in charge of the Y.M.G.A., to take their money with them on holiday. Consequently the burglars, who were after a big haul, secured only 165., which had been left in the safe. 'The camp canteen was robbed of about £30 worth of goods.
