VARIOUS CASES. Mr. L. G". Reid, S.M., presided over a sitting of tbe Magistrate's Court on Saturday. Gu*st. Abraham was convicted of uisobniety and resisting the police, and was fuied 205., with the alternative of spending three days in gaol. Allow M'Phee," for indecency'and for the ufeo of obscene language, was fined 40s. in all. The alternative was fixed at six (lays' imprisonment. Isaao Kutuer pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing £2 in money, the property of Cecil William Price. Deit appeared, went into the complainant's shop and asked to be allowed to use the telephone. He was granted, permission, and, while on the premises lie* abstracted 'two £1 notos from a drawer. The money was later recovered. > ' ■ ,-. His Worsln'p, in view of the fact that defendant's only previous conviction was for breach of the peace, fined defendant £5 instead of imprisoning him. Kutner ivas given the alternative of remain'ing in gaol for a fortnight. ; . • ■■'

He had previously served a iera of imprisonment for theft. Defendant was brought before His Worship Inter on in the morning, when it was Sitnted that he was a member of the oriu'v of a vessel just about to sail. Charles Henry Roxterough, with three aliases, was remanded for a week on a.charge of'bigamy.i •
