Owing t<) the Government refusing to grant any concessions or to run trains, the Greymouth Jockey Club has abandoned its meeting fixed for next week. The club offered h stipply the coal necessary for running tho trains asked for. CLUB CHANGES ITS DECISION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Creyinouth, April 22. Since arriving at a decision to abandon its autumn meeting on account of the Hail way Department not granting race trains nor delaying the ordinary Bervico, the Greymouth Jockey Club were approached by horse owners, who requested the club to hold the meeting, and promised financial assistance. The club has now decided to race on the original dates, Tuesday and Thursday next. Marlbarough Meeting Declared Off. Mr. L. Griffiths, secretary of the Marlborough Racing Club advises that the club's meeting set down for May 2 and 3 has been cancelled.
