: FEATHERSTON CENTRE MEETS. ' Tho annual meeting, of tlie Featherston branch of the Farmers' Union was held, 'oh -Wednesday. Mr. A. Donald presided. . . Mr. A. Donald addressed the, meeting on the; work done during the pastyear, and also explained the' setting; up of the Efficiency Board Trustees and Wheat Committees, and their duties. The Government was accumulating 1 the ;mohey' : collected from tho dairy farmers, and doing nothing with it. > The meeting-decided to support the remit sent from Groytown asking that tho tax bo taken off, and expressed the opinion that the farmers were quite willing to bear their full share of taxation provided it was levied equitably. Tho following remit was passed,: to be forwarded to the provincial conference at Marton: "That tho Government bo urged to take definite ■ steps to: prevent tho exploitation of the country by American Meat Trusts." : " Mr. Geo.
