— « "WELLINGTON LEADS FOR EXPORTS. The trade of Wellington, according Ito figures published in the annual report of the Wellington Chamber of I Commerce) shows a big jump upwards. It will be seen by tue accompanying table that during the triennial period ended September 30 last, the exports jumped to the extent of whilst for the three preceding years the increase was only £3,000,000. This abnormal rise would no doubt be due in a very great measure to the- advance in values of our products during ■war-time. Whilst our exports, are £7,000,000 ahead of those of the port of Auckland, our imports are a little' less than those of the northern port, wliioh serves a very large district. In that year the port of Wellington was "used by 3375 vessels (inwards and coastwise), representing 3,183,192 tons, whilst the. number of vessels entered at Auckland was 7213,- and the tonnage tbey represented was only 1,746,514.
