Sir Douglas Haig reports: Early in the morning the enemy strongly attacked on. a six-miles .front astride the Bapaume-Oambrai road, tinder, coyer of a heavy bombardment, our new positions from Hermies to ftbreuil. The attack failed everywhere, except at 1/agnicourt, where the enemy obtained a foothold.
