RUGBY FOOTBALL

WELLINGTON CLUB. The annual meeting of the Wellington. Football Club was held last evening. Mr. T. S. Ronaldson .presided, and thore was a good attendance. . The annual report stated that the roll now stood as follows: —144 active, 67 honorary, 23 life, and 6 retired; total 240. The finances of tlie club were in a satisfactory position. Of the twelve games played by the _ senior team, it had been .victorious in four, drawn one, and lost seven; scoring 71 points, as apainst 132 by its opponents. Doubts had been entertained at the beginning of the season as to the club being able to keep a second fifteen in the fiellU fojt principally owing to th© energy displayed by tho captain (Mr. Tinnock) tho team had kept all its engagements and had often had men to spare. Tho team had played twelve games, had been successful on two occasions, "and had lost the remaining ten contests. The Pownall Cup had been awarded to W. E. O'Sullivan as tlie best player in the senior team during tho past season. Hie election of officers resulted as under: —President, Mr. T. S. Ronaldson ; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. E. Ahem, A. T. Bate, G. C. Faoho, J. P. Firth, N. Galbraith, 0. G. ICember, P. S. K. Macassey, ''A. K. S. Mackenzie, V. R. Meredith, J. Murray, Dr. H. J. M'Lean, N. Nelson, A. D. Thomson, H. D. Knuth; club captain, Mr. D. D. Weir; secretary, Mr. J. /Pinnoek; treasurer, Mr. J. Holland ! management committee, Messrs. J. Dillon. B. Haig, G. F. Jackson, Atkinson, W. L. Packer, W. Davis, J. Thompson; delegatos to Wellington Rugby TJnion, Messrs. J. _ Thompson, O. G. Kember, D. D. Weir; auditor, Mr. G. Shand. Nineteen now members wero elected. Scrgt. W. Hill was elected ft life member. A similar honour was declined by Mr. D. Weir, who desired to. remain an. active member yet awhile.
