Mr. Vernon l?eed has hem returned tmopposfd for tho Bar of Islands electorate., a. vacancy for which was caused hy the. resignation of Mr. AY. Stewart for business reasons. [Mr. Meed was first elected l<> the House, at. the General Election of 1.9.11 as a supporter of th© Liberal Administration. Before tho General Election of 1.91-1 he had joined in with the Mnssey (Reform Government, aJid at that election ho stood as a Reform candidate, and secured a majority of tho votes. Ho was, however, -unseated as the result, of nn election petition alleging irregularities on tho part of his supporters, and Mr. W. Stewart -was ejected at the consequent, fresh election.]
