ST. PATRICK'S DAY
'To-day being St. Patrick's Day, will be observed as a bank and Government holiday. There will be the usual national celebrations, including a procession and sports meeting at Newtown Parle, and in the' evening an Irish national concert in the Town Hall. In connection with the sports at Newtown Park. Mrs. M'Vicar has consented to a-t as judge for the baby show. The Now Zealand Natives' Association Band :..nd Hie Mnrist Brothers' Drum and Fife Hand will play at Hie Park, and also in the procession. Some 560 flags will be used by the bovs of the Marist Brothers' schools in the exhibition of Swedish drill. Attractive sideshows arc promised. The tea kiosk and fancy stalls will he under the management of a committee of ladies. For the concert at the Town Hall in the evening an excellent programme has been arranged. Tim singers will inHiifle Mr. Fred C. Bourke (the Auckland linritoiinl. .Mrs. P. Amors Power <>y IWdin onerfitie contralto), pisses M'Enroe, Segrief, Barry, and ill Neowpn, and Messrs. Keviii Dillon and S. Laslett F.vton. The box plan is now open at the Bristol.
