'«. ?1S Btill a steady demand by the public for War Loan Certificates, the total sales at the close of February having reached £1,269,863. It is ovident that small investors and tbo patriotic public who desire to help forward tho war are placing a certain amount of their savings into the loan through this channel, and it cannot bo too widely known that those certifies aoro still on sale, and in addition to tormmg a very good investment for the five-yearly period of thoir currency, they aro excellent means by which everyone can assist in raising tho money necessary to carry tho great war to a successful termination. During tho first week in February the sales amounted to £16,837: during the second week to £14,337, during the third week to £8747, and thirin* til* , , fourth week to £9139. Tho sales in the Wellington district aro still very much greater than those in any other district of tho Dominion, and have just reached tho £300,000 mark. Following in order como Christehurch and Dunedin almost level with Auckland not far behind. Outside tho four centres, tho Invcrcargill and ISapior districts come next with an inmost equal amount.
