London, March 6. The rout of tho Sixth. Turkish Army, the remnants of which must have readied Bagdad, is a most significant event) iu view of tho profound political effect it will create throughout tho East. It is regarded as inconceivable that Germany will not attempt "a counter-stroke, not only to save tho Turks, hut the German regime in Turkey. It is recalled in this connection that German troops deft Constantinople just before tho recapture of Kut. It is helieved that a report that they were, going to the main Eastern front was designed as a cloak to their dispatch to Bagdad. Anyhow, developments aro eagerly awaited. Meanwhile, it is pointed out that the urgency and insistency of the needs of Germany's Allies must ho growing daily, and constitute an aspect of war which cannot be ovorlooked.— Router.
