VIEWS OF THE HON. J. A. HANAN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedln, March 5. In replying to a deputation from the Kindergarten * Association the Hon., J. A. Hanan said that as a temporary arranEeiiieiit he favoured increasing the present capitation payments to £2 10s., and he expressed the hope that when a more favourable opportunity presented itself the question of the State taking over this phase of the work and including it as part of the educational system would receive due consideration. Tie was arranging for an officer of the Department to visit the kindergarten schools throughout the Dominion to report on the work carried out. On his return to Wellington'he would consider regulations regarding an allowance to students to enter the training colleges.
