ROMAN CATHOLIC PROTEST

The executive of tho New Zealand Catholic Federation recorded an emphatic protest against the inaction of the Government in permitting tho Rev Howard Elliott to travel tho country stirring up religious strife at a time when the united efforts of tho community aro required to comhat a common enemy, such inaction being interpreted as gross ingratitude to a°scctiou of tho community which is doing its full share in the present struggle." The resolution has referenco to a. lecture by Mr. Elliott at Hamilton attacking tho Roman Catholics, which has been seycMjy commented on h.y both Auckland dailies.
