MAITDKA, FEOM SYDNEY. Tho Manuka, from Sydney direct, arrived in port at an early hour this morning, and anchored in the stream. She -will berth, at 7 o'clock this morning at No. 6 Queen's Whaxf. WIMJfERA'S MOVEMENTS. The Wimmera arrived at Auckland on Sunday night from Sydney, in tho Westralia'a running. She is timed to leave Auckland at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Wellington, via Oisborne and Napier, and is due here on Saturday next. She leaves the same day at 5 p.m. for Dunedin direct, and returns to Wellington via Lyttelton. THE BfVEEOAIiGILL. The coastal steamer Invercargill, which, has heen on the lay-up berth at Dunediu for some time past, went down to Port Chalmers on Thursday morning. The vessel will go into dock in a day or two for sighting and 'examination. It ie reported, says a Dunedin paper, that there ivill probably be a, change of ownership to a. northern shipping company, but up to the present timo the present owners have nothing definite to communicate. The Invercargill is a steel vessel, of 224 tons gross register, and -was huilt at Dunedin in 1885 for the Invercargill Shipping Company, Ltd. She has been regularly employed iii the trade between Dunedin Bluff, and Invercargill for some years past. U.S.S. CO. VESSELS. The Taranvera left Napier shortly after noon yesterday, and is due here at about 8 a.m. to-day. She receives perishable cargo only until 10.50 a.m., when eho sails for Lyttelton and Dunedin. Tho Oorinna is duo to-day from Lyttelton, and will leave probably this afternoon for Now Plymouth. Tho usual call •will not be made at Nolson, while the vessel is en route from Wellington to New Plymouth this trip. The Kumona left Auckland at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and comes to Wellington, via Napier. She should set hero to-r-torrow, and after finishing hero will go on to Groymouth. Prom that port she returns to Wellington, and then goes on to Napior. It is hoped to gel tho Poherua away today for Westport. Prom .Westuort she

goes on to Oama.ru and Dunedin. Tho Kokiri is at present in port discharging timber from Wesiport. The vessel is to bo on to Napier to discharge a quantity of coal. The Union Company's collier Kaiapoi, which arrived at Dunediu on Thursday afternoon from Newcastle, via Bluff, was to have left for Greymouth. on Saturday, where she will load a. cargo of timber for Melbourne. After discharge at Melbourne Bho will load general cargo there- for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Jin A. Rathbone, second mate of the Mararoa, has come, ashore, and has been replaced by Mr. J. Duder. Mr. W. F. Whiting, purser of the llapourika, hae come ashore. Mr. D. S. M'Lean, third engineer of tho Alexander, has come ashore, and Mr. W. 0. Hampton has joined the visssel in a like capacity. Mr. M'K. Smart, second mate o2 the Ka'iiri, has come ashore. Captain G. W-ilkinson, of the Blenheim, has come ashore. Mr. J. Oweji, first ofScer, has taken charge of the vessel, and Mr. 6. Thorns has joined as mate. rabawa foe the sup. To enable the Haiawa to get to Wellington for docking purposes, the timetable between New Plymouth and Onehunga has been slightly rearranged. She leaves Onehunga. on February 28, and, after discharging at New Plymouth, will come on to Wellington, being due here on Friday. She goes on the slip on Friday, and gets away in time to sail from New Plymouth in her ordinary running on arrival, of the Wellington mail train. The Blenhoim and Nora Niven -went on the slip yesterday. Tho Blenheim leaves hero on Monday neit for Havelock and Kenepuru and Pelorus Sound. The Tainui, which is at present working at Wanganui, is not expected in Wellington for some time to como. The Eunice is due here to-morrow from Lyttelton, and will- sail the same day for Wanganui. The Wootton is due here eome time today from the Sounds with a- load of sheep for Potone. The Himitangi now leaves heTe at 11 a.m. to-day for the Chatham Islands. She receives cargo up till that hour for Waltangi, Kamgaroa, Whangaroa, and Owenga. Tho Amokura was at Picton yeeterday waiting for one of her instructors, -who was left behind in Wellington owing to sickness. She should leave Picton to-day lor Dunedin, and then the outlying islands. The Government steamer Hinemoa, should get to the East Cape to-day. Instead of going to Lyttelton it has now been decided that the Huia, which arrived in port from Greymouth yesterday, will proceed from here to Gisborne.
