PASSPORTS FOR THE DANGER ZONE
RESTRICTIONS FOR WOMEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christcliurch, February 24. The Hon. G. W. Russell (Minister for Internal Affairs) stated torday that the question had arisen in connection with the instructions received from the Imperial authorities iu' ragaid to the restriction of the issue of passports to women who purpose travelling through, tlie submarine danger zone whether this embargo applies to vessels leaving New Zealand for South Africa, Pan-, araa, the United States, or Canada. The Minister hopes to be able to make a definite announcement on the subject shortly to the effect that a, limited number of passport's' for w6men may be issued, each application to' receive special consideration.. In no case, however, will permits be issued to women to leave New Zealand if their final destination can only be reached by, traversing' the danger sobs*
