THE AURORA
The exploring sliip Aurora, will be thrown open to public -exhibitipn today at 10 a.m., and will be opened again at 10 a.m. to-morrow, -4Tne ship is lying at the Ferry Wharf. The arrangements tliat have been made will ensure visitors obtaining a good view of the ship, and an opportunity to examine sledging gear and other articles of the equipment used by explorers in the Polar regions. Three of tho sledging dogs, which have made a journgy of 1600 miles tinder very arduous conditions, will be aboard the ship. '
The, crew of the Aurora has"- been paid off, and most of tho men left for Australia on Thursday. ' Captain J. K. Davis and his chief officer (Mr. Do La Monte) are still in Wellington, and expect to "leave' for Sydney next' week.
