Owing to the increased mobilisation and the many _ ami varied problems in. connection with the great war, increasing i demands are being limdo npr.n .the Salvation Army, both at Home and abroad. 1 Quite recently at the request of the i Home authorities the Aimy lias taken < over a large hostel in Russell Square for I the benefit of New Zealand eokliors. Commissioner Hodder also has a scheme x in hand at Foathcreton for accommodation of relatives, viz., wives, sisters, and ; fathers and mothers of our brave men who have answered their country's call. Referring to the many calls for officers j to meet these and other demands, at a ■welcome into training of 2" women cadets 5 yesterday at the Citadel, Vivian Street, the commissioner read the following cable from London:— ' ( "Military authorities request ive erect j hut, Salisbury, Zealand encampment. Do- ] side proceed Irimemdaite erecting. Cost, dSGOO; equipment, .£4OO. Hope you can a cable cash." ] New Zealanders 'generally; will be glad to know the commissioner is replying to' j pi'oceed at. once -with the building, the r commissioner accepting the responsibil- ] ity ' ' S
