Huddart, Parker and Co., who died, in tie Balmain District Hospital last week, after an ill-ness-of a few hours, was one of the old Newington Collego boys (states a- Christchurch exchange), when the school was in tho historic house of the Blaxlands on the Parramatta River. After, leaving college ho took to the sea., serving his time in the old famous Green's lino of fast clipper ship 6. He was for the last 26 years of hia life a marine officer in' the coastal trade, fifteen years being spent in tho Hobart run. Deceased was ono of the } oldest deck officers in tho employ of Huddart. Parker and Co. Ho leaves a widow and two grown-up children.
