. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report as follows'on their -Levin 6alo on January 9:—Wo offered a modium yarding of both slieep and cattle to the usual attendance of bnyers. Competition for shcop, particularly fats, was keen, and wo quitted tho wliolo of our yarding. Cattle were inclined to drag under tlio hammer, but wo sucoeeded in .placing several of our main lines at tho conclusion of the sale. We quote-.— Sheep: Pat maiden' owes. 355.; fat owe* (good), 345. 3d.; lighter, 325. 6d.; light fat two-toolhs. 28s. 6d.; forward b.f. lambs, 195.; smaller ditto, 16s. Id.; forward twotooth wethers. 335, 3d. Cattle: Light fat bullocks, £11 155.; light fat cows. £8, £9, to £9 10s.; three-year steers, £9 25.: eighteen-month steers, £7 ss. to £7 15s. Sundries: Harness mare, £9; gig and harness, £12. Messrs. AIT classes of sheep were keenly competed for, .and wo Jiavo to report a total clearance at pricos well above late rate*, tfat cattle were in good demand, but for stares there was not much competition. Wo quote:—Fat sheep: Wethers, good, 345. 4d.; lighter, 31s. to 335. 2d.; ewes, good, 335.; lightfcr. 295. 2d. Storo sheep: Mi-mouth ewes, 20s. Id.; good Komney lambs, 20s, 7d.; medium b.f. lambs, 15s. Id. to 17s. id. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Dannevirlte, report on tho following recent sales:—At tho first sale of the year at Woodville, a big- yarding of sheop and cattlo camo forward. Tho demand for sheep was normal, but for cattle tho market was easier. Quotations.—M.S. two-tooths, up to 305.; fourtooths, 345.; fat cows, to £13; forward cows, to £10 10s.; store cows, £8; cows and calves, £12 10s.; eighteen-month steers, £9; two and A half-year steers, to £12: weaners, to £3 10s. At Makotuku a good yarding of sheep came ■ forward, but less cattle than usual wero yarded. Quotations:—M.S. two-tooths, to 295.' Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., roport on their sale held on Thursday as follows:—We submitted a good. yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle to the average attendance of -buyers present. All stock soldi at uresont ruling values, and we effected a good clearance at tho following prices :-6heep: F.F.M. ewos, 275. Bd.; light, fat ewos, Ms. 6d.; cull ewes, 245.; store lambs, 17s. 6d. to 20s. Cattle: Storo cows, £8 10s.; bulls, £6 15s. to £9 10s.; aged hacks, £1 2s. 6d. to £5 12s. 6d. Wo submitted a very good yarding of stoclc to a largo attendance of buyers at the Waipoua sale on Wednesday. Anything showing quality was in fair demand, and there was a very good clearance at the undermentioned prices.—Sheep: 354 four and five-year breeding eweß, 325., fid.; storo ewes, 235. 3d.; small fat wethers, 31s. 2d.; cull ewes, 13s. lOd.; fat lambs, 235. 5d.; stud twotooth B.D. owes, 40s.
