FOUR MORE STEAMERS SUNK London, January 9. Tl)e following sinkings are reported: —Tho British steamer Lesbian (2555 tons), the Japanese steamer Chinto Maru (2592 tons), the French steamer Alphonso Conseil (1591 tons), and the Norwegian Borgholm (17J5 tons). — Aus.-N.Z. A Berlin official message claim that a German submarine torpedoed and sank in the Aegean Sea on December 27 the convoyed French battleship Gaulois; in tho Mediterranean on January 1 tlio T.vernia, a fully-laden British, troop transport, which was being convoyed by destroyers; and on January 3 an armed and heavily-laden transport of six thousand tons. —Aus.-N.Z.
