DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORT
A MINISTERIAL STATEMENT. Representatives of the exporters of /-butter,and cheese who handle dairy -produce either as merchants or as .snipping agents waited upon the Minister of Commerce yesterday to put before him certain phases of the export business in which they are financially, inter;ested, and.to ask that their interests should he respected in the drawing up of a scheme for the requisitioning of cheese. They wish to be allowed to carry on their business with as little disturbance as possible. . The Minister informed a reporter that * .nothing definite could be doise in the •matter yet, because the assent of the
Imperial Government to the proposals as made from the New Zealand producers for the purchase of the cheese had not yet been received. He. thought however, that it might bo necessary to mako some such adjustment as was desired as between tho factories on the one hand and tho merchants or agents on the other.
