AN ACTOR'S GENEROSITY
ENTERTAINMENT AT THE HOSPITAL. ' , - ' ! In compliance with the request received at Christmas time from Mr. Hugh,J. Ward, Mr. J. Farrell, man-; agcr of the Williamson Comedy Company now playing here, arranged, a very enjoyable concert programme for the benefit of the patients'at'the Wei-' lington Hospital. The entertainment was given yesterday afternoon in the\ presence of 150 patients, including many children and wounded soldiers. Others present were Messrs. H. Baldwin, Rev. H. Van Sfavern, W.i Campbell, and C. M. Luke, members of the Hospital Bdhrd; also Dr. and Mrs. Morice, Miss Stott\ (matron),, Mrs. Seddou, a»d a number of visitors. The varied' numbers given by the performers, were greatly appreciated, and certainly served the purpose" of cheering' the inmates of the institution. When the programme was over, Mr. Baldwin, on behalf of .the board, warmly thanked the members,of the company, and in the course or his remarks referred to the , efforts Mr. Hugh Ward • had .put forth in the interests of tlio Children's Hospital at. the. time- of'- its erection.

It will be iemembered that Mr. Ward, who is at present in New York, had'each child, in the Children's Hospital presented with a Christmas gift,, and that the expense both of. these gifts and of tlie'entertamment.were to be debited to him. ..
