MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., presided over a sitting of tho Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. Benjamin Hopkins was convicted of insobriety and discharged, and on. a charge of procuring liquor; during tho currency of a prohibition order, was fined 405., with an alternative of seven' days' imprisonment. For damaging Government property to the value of Bs. 6d., he was ordered to pay that amount or go to gaol for 24 hours. William Henry Dunpliy, held to bail on a charge of breaking and entering a dwelling-house by night, and arrested on a warrant issued by one of his sureties, was remanded on the application of the police to the Magistrate's Court at Greymouth.
