BIG WIN FOR EAST

. Another round, of the cricket season was completed on Saturday. Oji the Basin Reserve East had a big win over Old Boys, beating them bv an innings and. 110 runs. Institute boat University by 66. runs, after a poor display by'both sides. The bowlers had. a good day. In one innings Gibbes took five Old Boys wickets for 73 runs, and in the other, four wickets for 8 runs. M'Girr 4 bowling for tho same side, secured four for 29. Garrod was very successful; as a bowler for Institute, 'but his exact figures were not obtainable. North secured a three-point win over Petone by an innings and 96 runs. When play ceased oh the first day North had lost six wickets for 176 runs. On resuming Hiddleston and Wilson ran the score to 213, tho former doing most of, the scoring, and when within four of his century he cut a ball.from Brice to Roilcers in the slips, Wil6on hit all. across one from Rodeers after making 22, and Crombie was goine strong when the last wicket fell.. Petone's second innings was a procession. Brice, Bo)d, and Bennett all went first ball. Hiddleston, who came out with tho splendid figures of eight for 19. completely nonplussed the batsmen. He was' successful in securing the wickets of Cate,.Bold and Bennett with successive balls.
