Round the enclosure aro to be well-equipped . refreshment booths and side-shows. An item which proved, a great draw on a previous occasion, the hair-dressing and hat-trimming competition for soldiers and young ladies, is to be repeated, and a large number of entrants is expected. Another novel event, highly spoken of as a laugh producer, is the balloon race for ladies. Arrangements are in hand for the blindfold drill and burlesque haka by soldiers. His Worship the Mayor, accompanied by members of the committee, visited Trentham Camp in regard to details in connection with the troops taking part in events. The Commandant gave promiso of all possible assistance. The returned men .now in camp are to be given leave, whilst it is also hoped to send in a large contingent of other men. with the bands. A team of bayonet fighters is almost assured. Oa the whole, the visit is likely to produce very line results. ■ A special, feature at the basin will be a boxing exhibition by Mr. Tim Tracy, the leading expert, and a team of his pupils. This should alone be worth, the price of admission to the ground, as it is understood to be an instructive and entertaining item, not, however, anything in the nature of prize-fight-ing.
