ANNUAL' MEETING. i The annual meeting of the Karori De- ' fence Riflo Club was presided over by I President H. Marshall. In. inoviDg the adoption of tho report and balance-sheet, the chairman elated, that the olub was in a satisfactory coni dition. Fifty-two members had enlisted : for service. The whole of the club's prize money for the past year had been given by the winners to_the fundi for | wounded New Zealanders and their de--1 jwndants. As a result, tho sum of <£24 lGs. 6d. had been paid over. Since last annual meeting tjvo more members, had been killed in action—Serjt. C. C. Carr, of tho New Zealand Rifle Brigado, and C'orpl. C. G. Downoxd, of the Wellington Regiment of Infantry. It was satisfactory to hear that the Government proposed to equip a rango of twenty targets , at Mirainar, which would bo a great boon to Wellington men. A motion of sympathy with tho relatives of Sergt. Carr and Corpl. Downard was carried in silence, those present standing. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows Patron, Mr. W. H. Field, M.P.; vice-patrons, BrigadierGeneral P. E. Johnston and Mr. P. J. Lissington; president, Mr. H. Collins, 'and Capt. J. Keir; lion, secretary, Mr. E. W. Daniel; assistant lion, secretary, Mr. 11. V". Croxtori; Jinn, treasurer, Mr. W. A. Paryuhar; anditor, Mr. R. Randall; liandicapper, Mr. G. Tinney; committee, Messrs. W. Judd; W. Skegg, G. Tinney, and H. Bulford; selection committee, the iJresident, deputy-president, and liandicappcr; delegates to Rifle Union, the president, deputy-president, and secretary.
